Vampiric PvP Flatbow of Fortitude, with a Zealous 2nd weapon. Flatbows are probably your best option IF you're using Read the Wind or Favourable Winds, since they have the same firing rate as a shortbow as well as a greater range. If you don't use either of these skills, weep as your arrows take 2-3 minutes to reach the damn target. For a ranger spike team it's advisable to use a longbow(again with a vampiric or zealous string) since overall DPS are are unimportant, just the spike every 10 seconds or so. Hornbows also work ok in a ranger spike build(or with quickshot),but are poor in most other cases due to the slow firing rate. I used to favour shortbows but have moved onto flatbows (with RTW),as the range of the shortbows is hardly better than that of a melee weapon..though they are viable with a snare. And for the last time sundering is a poor upgrade..don't let the high prices fool you.

My current bow is a Storm Bow. I sometimes switch between that or my Eternal Bow.

Thats a nice bow for PvE. Very very nice. I got something similar to it.
For PvP though I restrict myself to horned bows of sundering and vamp. Most groups wont accept you otherwise.
Edit: clean horned bows have 10% AP

LOL Valerius you certainly are a bloodsucker!
What i'm using
1) Drago's Flat Bow (best bow in game? -discuss)
2) Sundering Composite Bow of Fortitude (great for interrupting)
3) Sundering Half Moon of Defence
Just realised all my bows have sundering mods, Currently the subject of much debate right now

Hey KC99,
Personally, beside the slow flight time of the Drago's Flat Bow, I think the bow has everything I want, but because of this, I only use it when I have FW with me, which most of the time I dont use it beside hunting with a pack of rangers. For PvP, I dont feel I have enough slots to make a FW, so the flat bow I am afraid, stay flat in my back pack.
I think out of all the properties, the Sundering is great, there is nothing wrong to have a chance to AP in any condition, PvP, or PvE, so I think its one of the best thing I can have.
I am the kind of the player who want to glue to a bow for all situation, so I actaully started making a bow by meself, cheap shit you get from coloector, personalised it, and now looking to buy the sundering string. Think thats better than any green ones I have seen on the site.

I only play in Barrage teams (UW, FoW, and new UW), so my bow choices are limited for such as I play the healer or necro for anything else.
1) Zealous Composite Bow of Deathbane (20%) 15%^50, (Desert collector)
2) Zealous Half Moon of Skeletonslaying (20%) 15%^50
3) Zealous Shadowbow of Defense (or shelter, can't remember) 15^50, only if I have FW
4) Icy Composite Bow of Defense 15^50, for RA (Desert collector)
5) Dragon's Sundering Flatbow... used to be used in place of Shadowbow

Sundering is k-rad I liek it a lot!!!
Five reasons:
1) PvE players do not understand weapon swapping, or they do not believe in doing it. They want their one Ub3R weapon that they keep out *ALL* the time.
2) PvE players do not like things with drawbacks. When the math is poorly understood (ala, it doesn't make numbers on their character screen go up) they use things without drawbacks.
3) PvE players would much rather run around with terrible equipment that 'looks cool' than use something that's actually good.
4) 10/10 sundering is the rarest prefix for bows, and ties for rarest on melee weapons. If there's one thing we've learned from MMOs, it's that rarity = cool.
5) Everyone else likes sundering, and they're paying huge money for it, so if you want to be cool like the masses you need it too.
Peace,
-CxE

right now I am PvE the Titan Source so I am carring:
1. Icy storm Bow
2. Zealous recurve
3. Vamp recurve 5/1
But I have a wide assortment of other bows, skelton, undead, lightning, fire and earth(grawl huting).
That vamp bow and storm chaser allowed me to stand toe-to-toe with a titan and kill him, of course I couldn't handle the 2 spawns.

I mean what are the alternatives? Vampiric? Zealous? Elemental? They all have pro's and con's, And that ensigns comments about PVE players were well wide of the mark.
If someone thinks that sundering is "T3H UB3R MOD" then let them, Why should we be bothered?
Until some boffin gets his calculator out and tries to blind us all with science about how % of that does'nt does'nt compare with % of this.
Well ah'll stick with me worst mod for the time being.
